Reservation/Renewal of Name (FLLP)
Before an LLP can be incorporated, its proposed name has to be reserved with the Registrar โ and that reservation needs to be renewed if it's about to lapse.
Reservation of a name for a proposed LLP is done through the RUN-LLP service on the MCA portal, checking the name against existing companies, LLPs and trademarks. Once approved, the reservation is valid for a limited period, within which the LLP must be incorporated; if incorporation is delayed, the reservation can be extended by filing for renewal before it lapses.

What makes a name get approved
A few checks the Registrar applies before approving a proposed name.
Uniqueness
The name must be sufficiently distinct from existing companies, LLPs and registered trademarks.
Permitted Words
Certain words require prior government approval or are restricted altogether under the naming rules.
Validity Period
Once approved, the name reservation is valid for a limited window within which incorporation must be completed.

From initial consultation to completion.

File RUN-LLP
Submit the application to the Registrar and respond to any resubmission remarks.
Incorporate or Renew

Why name reservations lapse or get rejected
What sets our approach apart.
Too similar to an existing name
A name closely resembling an existing company, LLP or trademark is a common reason for rejection.
Incorporation isn't completed in time
If the LLP isn't incorporated within the reservation's validity period, the name has to be renewed or reserved afresh.
Restricted words used without approval
Certain words in a proposed name require additional government approval that wasn't obtained upfront.
