File My GST ReturnsWhat is GST Return Filing?
GST return filing is the periodic process through which a registered taxpayer reports outward supplies, inward supplies, input tax credit (ITC) claimed, and the net GST liability paid to the government. Every person holding a GSTIN must file GST returns on the GSTN portal within the prescribed due dates, irrespective of whether any business transactions took place during the period.
Depending on the nature of registration and turnover, taxpayers file different returns such as GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-4, GSTR-9, GSTR-5, GSTR-5A, GSTR-7, GSTR-8, and the final return GSTR-10. Our team manages the full GST return filing cycle, from invoice-level reconciliation to challan payment and acknowledgement download.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many GST returns does a regular taxpayer need to file?
A regular taxpayer typically files GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B every month (or quarterly under the QRMP scheme) and one annual return (GSTR-9) per financial year. Taxpayers with turnover above ₹5 crore must also file GSTR-9C as a self-certified reconciliation statement.
What is the due date for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B?
GSTR-1 is due on the 11th of the following month for monthly filers, or the 13th of the month after the quarter for QRMP filers. GSTR-3B is due on the 20th of the following month for monthly filers, with staggered dates of 22nd or 24th for QRMP filers based on the state.
What is the late fee for not filing GST returns on time?
Late fee for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B is ₹50 per day (₹25 CGST + ₹25 SGST) for taxpayers with tax liability, and ₹20 per day for nil returns. Interest at 18% per annum is also charged under Section 50 on any delayed tax payment.
Do I need to file GST returns if there are no sales in a month?
Yes. GST returns are mandatory for every active GSTIN regardless of business activity. A nil return must still be filed to avoid late fees and the risk of registration suspension under Rule 21A of the CGST Rules.
Can I revise a GST return after filing?
No. GST returns once filed cannot be revised. However, errors or omissions can be corrected in the GSTR-1 or GSTR-3B of a subsequent period using the amendment tables, subject to the cut-off of 30th November of the following financial year or filing of the annual return, whichever is earlier.
What happens if I stop filing GST returns?
Continuous non-filing of GST returns leads to suspension of GSTIN under Rule 21A, cancellation under Section 29, blocking of e-way bills, and loss of input tax credit eligibility. Restoring the GSTIN later requires revocation of GST cancellation and clearance of pending dues.
