DIN eKYC Overview
A yearly ritual for every director โ confirming that the details attached to a Director Identification Number are still accurate.
Every individual holding a Director Identification Number (DIN) as on 31st March of a financial year must complete DIR-3 KYC by 30th September of that year. First-time KYC or KYC after a change in details (mobile, email, address) requires the full Form DIR-3 KYC with OTP verification; if the director's details are unchanged from the previous year, the simpler DIR-3 KYC-WEB service can be used instead.
What DIN eKYC covers
Keeping director identity records current across every company they're associated with.
- Annual DIR-3 KYC filing for existing DIN holders
- DIR-3 KYC-WEB for directors with no change in details
- Mobile and email OTP verification during filing
- Updating address or contact details through the full DIR-3 KYC form
- Monitoring the 30 September deadline across all directors of a company
- Reactivating a DIN deactivated for non-filing
Two ways to file
Which route applies depends on whether details have changed.
DIR-3 KYC-WEB
A quick web-based confirmation for directors whose details haven't changed since the last filing.
Full DIR-3 KYC Form
Used for first-time filers or when contact/address details need updating, with document upload and OTP verification.
OTP Verification
Both routes require OTP confirmation on the director's registered mobile number and email.
Our process
From initial consultation to completion.
Check DIN Status
Confirm the DIN is active and identify whether details have changed since last year.
Choose the Right Form
DIR-3 KYC-WEB for no change, or the full form if details need updating.
Verify via OTP
Complete mobile and email OTP verification during filing.
File Before the Deadline
Submit well ahead of 30 September to avoid last-minute portal congestion.
Why this filing gets missed
What sets our approach apart.
Annual, not one-time
Unlike many other filings, DIR-3 KYC has to be done every single year regardless of company activity.
Deactivation is automatic
The MCA deactivates a DIN automatically if KYC is not filed by the deadline, without further individual notice.
Affects every associated company
A deactivated DIN blocks filings for every company the director is associated with, not just one.
