Trademark Registration
Securing exclusive rights over your brand name, logo, tagline or packaging by taking it through clearance, filing and examination to a registered mark under the Trade Marks Act, 1999.
Trademark registration begins with a clearance search, followed by filing Form TM-A with the applicant's details, a representation of the mark and the relevant class of goods or services. The Registry examines the application, and if there are no objections or the objections are cleared, the mark is published in the Trade Marks Journal for four months. If no opposition is filed in that window, the mark proceeds to registration and a certificate is issued.

What decides whether a filing goes through cleanly
The details examiners and third parties look at most closely.
Clearance Search
A thorough search reduces the risk of objections on grounds of similarity to an existing mark.
Correct Classification
Matching the mark to the right NICE class so the registration actually covers the business it protects.
Form TM-A Filing
Filing with accurate applicant details, a clear representation of the mark and, where relevant, a user affidavit.
Journal Publication
Tracking publication in the Trade Marks Journal, which starts the four-month window third parties can use to oppose.

Why the filing stage matters most
What sets our approach apart.
Errors at filing are expensive to fix later
Correcting the applicant name, class or representation of the mark after filing often means starting over.
A generic or descriptive mark faces automatic objection
Marks that merely describe the goods or services are refused unless they have acquired distinctiveness through use.
Priority date depends on filing promptly
The filing date determines priority over later applicants for a similar mark, so delay carries real risk.
