What is Udyog Aadhaar Registration?
The Udyog Aadhaar Registration is a simple online registration introduced on 18th September 2015, providing a 12-digit registration number to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
It replaced the earlier complex entrepreneur’s memorandum process with a single-page self-declaration form, making it easier for entrepreneurs to establish their business identity, activity, and ownership details.

Classification of Enterprises under MSME

Registration Process
Collect & submit PAN, Aadhaar, and business details.
File application online on the MSME/Udyog Aadhaar portal.
Submit supporting documents as per state requirements.
Receive Provisional Certificate (valid up to 5 years if production not started).
Once operations begin, apply for a Permanent MSME Certificate.
Timeline: Registration usually completes within 5–10 working days, subject to state processing.
